Varas

Benjamin Muñoz Varas, born in 1997, is a Gothenburg-based producer, singer, and songwriter better known as Varas. A self-taught musician, Varas has carved out his own space in the music world with what he calls “almost-pop”—a fearless blend of strong melodies, unexpected twists, and raw emotional storytelling.

Since his debut EP Set One (2020), Varas has pushed boundaries with each release, including There You Go! (2023) and his upcoming 2025 project, Eaten by Worms. This latest EP features a collaboration with iconic producer James Dring (Gorillaz, Jamie T, Lana Del Rey), underscoring Varas’s refusal to repeat himself or follow trends. Known for wrapping playful creativity in captivating production, Varas is quickly becoming a unique voice in modern pop.
